Michael is a born and bred San Antonian with roots on the Southside. With over 10 years of portfolio-building under his belt, his career launched as a multimedia developer over 6 years ago operating in information technology, creating high-level training and leading large-scale projects for government and corporate clients nationwide. After working alongside talented developers and learning an array of concepts and techniques, Michael eventually deviated from crafting cookie-cutter projects and moved on to find his niche in advertising.

After already thinking he had reached the acme of his potential, Michael tag teamed with a few local intellectuals and co-founded Picoso Creative. Together, the Picoso team pioneered design concepts that are innovative, edgy, and diverse. Michael finally found his home at Picoso and discovered that he believes not so much in design for the sake of design, but in using it to lasso public attention and effectively communicate a message. This is a constant challenge he loves and welcomes. Because according to Michael, design consumes him, and it consumes us all.

Michael believes design is the search for a solution—a solution to convey a message. There’s a reason an ad or logo nabs our attention, or a reason we chose, let’s say, a bottle of wine. Just ask Michael, and he’ll tell you: because the label looks super cool.
