Design has the potential [when done right] to bring art to the masses. Art that can be sitting on their pantry, or on their bookshelf; art that announces their favorite restaurant or that graces the cover of their favorite album. Everyone deserves to experience beauty. Design can bring beauty to the every day life. and this is why I love design.
I could say that I started my journey to become a designer when I was a teenager back in Chihuahua Mexico. I would create typographic icons with my initial and the initial of my boy crush. I would spend hours twisting letters together that would best represent my feelings for this boy. Later on my friends would asked me to do the same for them and I would lose myself on the shapes of the alphabet.
These curiosities later on became this big desire to learn more, and when the time to take a decision on what I wanted to do with my life, I knew it had to be something that would allow me to follow this naive passion. This took me to El Paso Texas, where at UTEP I got my B.A. on Graphic Design and, most importantly, where I found more people that shared these same passions and from whom I learned so much.
My journey would later bring me to San Antonio, where after over two years of being at the trenches of the advertising world I decided to join forces with some of the most creative people I’ve know, and embark on this adventure that we lovely named Picoso Creative.
